GREATER ATL

Terms

Effective September 3, 2026

The rules for reading Greater ATL, being listed in the directory, sponsoring an issue, and coming to an event. Short, because there isn't much to say.

Reading it

The newsletter and the site are free. You don't need an account to read anything, and there's nothing to agree to beyond not attacking the site or trying to break into it.

Don't scrape the directory wholesale, don't republish the newsletter as your own, and don't use anything here to build a competing list. Quoting a paragraph with a link back is welcome and always will be.

What we get right, and what we don't

This is reporting on leases, permits, openings and money in Metro Atlanta, much of it drawn from public filings and public sources. We check what we can and we correct what we get wrong — write to us and we'll fix it, in public, in the next issue.

None of it is advice. Don't sign a lease, buy a building, or make an investment because of something you read here without doing your own work. A business appearing in the newsletter or the directory is not an endorsement of it.

Directory listings

Any local business can be listed free. Any owner can claim their listing and edit it, free. If you'd rather not be listed at all, say so and we'll remove it — no argument, no retention offer.

Paid tiers buy placement and a monthly report on how your listing did. They do not buy coverage. A business paying for a listing is no more likely to appear in the newsletter than one that isn't, and asking will not change that. It is the one thing here that isn't for sale.

We can decline or remove a listing. In practice that means a business that isn't local, isn't real, or is trading on something we won't put our name to.

Paying for a listing

Paid tiers bill monthly through Stripe until you cancel. Cancel any time and it stops at the end of the month you've paid for; the listing drops to free rather than disappearing.

If we take your money and don't deliver — the listing didn't run, the placement didn't appear — tell us and you get that month back. We won't make you argue for it.

Prices can change. If yours does, you'll hear it from us before it takes effect, and a rate agreed as a founding member is the rate you keep.

What you upload stays yours

Photos, descriptions and anything else you add to your listing remain your property. By adding them you give us permission to show them on the site and in the newsletter, which is the whole point of adding them.

Only upload what you have the right to upload. If you put someone else's photo on your listing and they object, we'll take it down.

We may lightly edit a description for length or house style. We won't change what it says about your business.

Sponsorship

Sponsors buy a placement in an issue, or the naming of an event. You write your own line and we may tighten or reword it to read like the rest of the paper — anything material goes past you before it runs.

We'll turn down copy we think misleads readers, and we'll say why. A sponsorship never buys editorial coverage, and a sponsor's placement is always visibly marked as one.

A booked slot that we fail to run gets refunded or moved to the next issue, your choice.

Events

RSVPs are free unless the event page says otherwise, and a spot isn't transferable to a stranger — tell us if someone else is coming in your place.

Some events listed here are run by other people. Where that's the case the page says so and registration happens on their side, under their terms, not ours.

If we cancel a paid event you get your money back. If a venue falls through we'll move it and tell you as early as we can.

The unglamorous part

The site is provided as it is. We work to keep it up and accurate, but we don't guarantee it will always be available or always be right, and we're not liable for a decision you made on the strength of something you read here.

Where a loss can't be disclaimed, our liability is limited to what you've paid us in the previous twelve months — which for most readers is nothing, because reading is free.

These terms are governed by the law of Georgia, and anything that can't be settled by talking goes to the courts of Cobb County, Georgia.

Changes

This page carries the date the current wording took effect — September 3, 2026. Material changes get announced in the newsletter, not slipped in quietly.
